The GoodHope Women Flourish Initiative breathed life into commemorating the International Women’s Day 2026 by launching “Project Flourish 200”—the Imo State Female Students and Women Empowerment Programme, on March 9, 2026, at Haven Suites, Owerri.
This week-long empowerment provides mentorship and skill training for female students and women across Imo State. It is meticulously designed to bridge the gap for young women who lack access to opportunities, mentors, and resources, and equip them with practical, marketable skills. Participants will receive hands-on training in hair dressing, baking, makeup artistry, content creation, gele artistry, bead-making, and fascinator design.
In my address, which was delivered by my representative and Programme Coordinator, Barr. Chinenye Owums Owuamalam, I noted that skill acquisition is not merely about earning a livelihood; it is about self-reliance and improving the confidence of a woman who knows she can provide for herself, and contribute meaningfully to her community. When a woman is equipped, she does not wait for permission to flourish. She creates, she builds, and she leads.
The GoodHope Women Flourish Initiative remains committed to investing in the mentorship and growth of women across Imo State. Together, we are beginning a new chapter, one written in boldness, wisdom, and purpose.
