As we approach International Women’s Day 2026, I was honoured to join distinguished voices in Lagos at the UN Global Compact Network Nigeria convening. Themed "Bridging the Gender Gap: Turning Intent to Impact". Together we explored practical pathways for advancing women's rights, strengthening institutions, and translating leadership commitments into measurable outcomes across public service, corporate governance, diplomacy, and community impact. Nigeria. In my address, I highlighted the women-centered initiatives we lead in Imo State through the GoodHope Women Flourish Initiative, addressing economic empowerment, healthcare, and child protection. Notably, the Renewed Hope Initiative, led by Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, continues to drive substantial investments in women-led entrepreneurship. I commend the United Nations Global Compact Network Nigeria, led by Naomi E. Nwokolo Esq., @naominwokolo, for their Target Gender Equality Accelerator. This initiative helps organisations translate Gender commitments into concrete actions across workplaces, supply chains, and communities. As we celebrate International Women’s Day, let us commit to turning intentions into lasting impact. Together, we can build a Nigeria where every woman's potential flourishes, driving sustainable development and prosperity for all.
