We marked a milestone in our collective journey toward ensuring the health and well-being of our children as we flagged off the Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign in Imo State on February 3rd, 2026, at the Eze Imo Palace, Owerri, declaring our commitment to protecting our children.
Measles and Rubella are formidable adversaries, and I am honoured to lead the vaccination campaign in Imo State, following the inspiring example of Her Excellency, Senator (Dr.) Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who has galvanised us all to take decisive action against preventable childhood diseases.
I urge all parents and guardians across Imo State to embrace this opportunity presented by the vaccination exercise running from 4th to 16th February 2026 across all 27 Local Government Areas of the State. Please bring your children, aged nine months to 14 years, to the nearest vaccination centres. Every child vaccinated represents a life protected, a future secured, and a family granted peace of mind.
I acknowledge the State Ministry of Health, the Imo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NPHCDA, WHO, UNICEF, and all collaborating organisation's for their technical guidance, resources, and steadfast commitment to child health in Nigeria. Your efforts will save lives and strengthen our healthcare system.
