'A holy day has dawned upon us. Come, you nations, and adore the Lord. For today a great light has come upon the earth.' This reading excerpt formed the message for Christmas as my husband, His Excellency Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, CON, and I, joined by family and other distinguished guests, gathered in worship at our home parish, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Ozuh-Omuma, for the Christmas Thanksgiving Mass on December 25, 2025.

The homily from His Eminence Cardinal Peter Ebere Okpaleke, Bishop of Ekwulobia, acknowledged Christmas as the celebration of Christ coming to be with us. His Eminence reminded us that we should be hopeful and willing to accommodate one another, be compassionate towards those in need, and embody the spirit of love that Christ exemplified.

As we celebrate this festive season, let us remember that the true meaning of Christmas lies not only in celebration but in our commitment to reflect God's love through our actions, fostering peace and harmony in our families and communities, and extending grace to all we encounter.
