I joined the First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, alongside my fellow RHI State Coordinators, on November 20, 2025, at the State House Banquet Hall. The occasion was the closing ceremony of the 2025 Renewed Hope Initiative/National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) Women ICT Training Empowerment Program. In her address, Her Excellency urged women across the nation to embrace small beginnings, not only in their businesses but also in digital empowerment. She encouraged the participants to overcome fear and hesitation by starting modestly but with determination. The First Lady emphasized this principle as a guide for women to patiently build their digital skills and careers without fear of initial limitations. Senator Tinubu also praised the program’s remarkable progress, noting its growth from initially training 35 women to now reaching 607 women across the country. Earlier, the Director-General of NITDA, Mallam Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, highlighted the transformational power of empowering Nigerian women through technological innovation and digital literacy. He emphasized the Federal Government’s ongoing commitment to equip women with the digital tools and skills needed for economic advancement. The 320 participants for the 2025 edition of the training, drawn from the six geopolitical zones of the country, received a comprehensive support package, including a brand-new laptop and seed funding of ₦200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira) each.
