The NITDA-Renewed Hope Initiative Women ICT Training and Empowerment Programme, a commitment to fostering gender equality and harnessing the potential of women across Nigeria, was flagged off on October 29th in Owerri, Imo State, for the Southeast zone. I had the honour of representing Her Excellency Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, CON, the First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative. The initiative aims to empower a total of three hundred and twenty (320) women nationwide, comprising 40 women from each zone, 40 from the FCT, and 40 representing other stakeholders. In her address, the First Lady urged the beneficiaries to seize this opportunity with dedication and zeal, emphasizing that their success in the programme represents a significant step towards a brighter future. She encouraged them to put in their best effort, stay focused, and allow their passion for technology to propel them to greater heights. I commend Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu for transforming lives through the Renewed Hope Initiative, and the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) for creating a more inclusive and equitable digital landscape in Nigeria through the Women ICT Training and Empowerment Programme, which empowers women with digital skills, bridges the gender gap in technology, and promotes entrepreneurial knowledge.
