The Abuja Leadership Center, University of Abuja, in collaboration with the TETFUND Center of Excellence in Public Governance and Leadership, organized a one-day Youth Leaders' Clinic in Owerri on October 23, 2025.
The Youth Leaders' Clinic is a flagship leadership development initiative organized with the aim of empowering young leaders, particularly senior secondary school prefects and youth representatives, with skills in leadership, civic engagement, and personal development. Represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Lady Nkechinyere Ugwu, UNJP, who was accompanied by Mrs. Chinwe Nwokeji, JP, Hon. Mrs. Chioma Amadi, and Mrs. Nwosu Peace, the students from schools across Imo State were encouraged to know that leadership is not reserved for a special few. It is not only for those from wealthy families or those who attended the best schools; it is for anyone willing to learn, willing to serve, and willing to make a difference, no matter how small it may seem at first.
Speaking on the theme, "Empowering the Next Generation," she spurred them into understanding that the world is waiting for what the youths can offer. "Our nation is counting on your generation to lead us into a better tomorrow, and I have no doubt that you will rise to meet the moment." She urged them to embrace character because it is everything. "Talent can open the door, but character will keep it open."
