Today, at the Imo State Government House Chapel, my husband, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, and I joined Imolites, the Christian faithful, as well as heads of military and paramilitary formations in the State, for Nigeria's 65th Independence Thanksgiving Mass. The homily, themed “the poor and the rich” with reference to the Gospel reading of Luke 16:19–31, reminded us that true wealth lies in compassion, kindness, and purposeful living. It emphasized the importance of using our earthly blessings to serve those in need, while recognizing the inherent dignity of every human being. As we celebrate Nigeria's 65th Independence, may we continue to live in love, unity, and tolerance for one another. Let us prioritize empathy, extend helping hands to the needy, and live lives that reflect the values of true Nigerian patriots.
