I received the Imo State Local Government Chairpersons, on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

They were led to my office by Mrs. Chizoba Okolieogwo, the wife of the IMC Chairman of Oru-West LGA, who is also the chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Imo State Chapter.

I thank them for the visit and for all they do for us at the Local Government Areas of the State. I encouraged them to keep up the good work.

The annual Children's Day celebration is around the corner. I noted that as a result of the security challenges prevalent in the state at the moment, we may not be able to host our children in celebration of this year’s Children’s day.

I urged the Chairpersons to summon the kids at the various Primary and secondary schools; and orphanage homes at the various local governments to celebrate and put smiles on their faces.

Furthermore, I mentioned that the highlights of the event will include spelling bees, reading competition, sharing of school materials and speeches on values of life, good morals, safety precautions and patriotism.

I will liaise with the relevant authorities to see to the funding of these initiatives.

The gift items presented are greatly appreciated and I pray God continues to replenish their pockets.
