I was conferred with the title “Osodieme” by the members of the Catholic Women’s Organisation (CWO) of Holy Trinity Parish, Omuma, in Oru East LGA, during their Thanksgiving Mass on August 10th, 2025, marking the grand finale and closing of the 2025 August Meeting.
The Leader of the Catholic Women’s Organisation (CWO), Lady Salome Nwamba, while conferring the award, expressed gratitude for the numerous contributions I have made to the parish. She also acknowledged that His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Hope Uzodimma, CON, my husband and the Governor of Imo State, has been instrumental in empowering women through various initiatives; including providing cash gifts to start businesses, supplying grinding machines, building houses for the indigent, and repeatedly funding repairs to the church, ensuring that the house of God remains beautifully maintained. The event, chaired by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education Intervention, Hon. (Mrs.) Esther Ukachukwu, had me ably represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Hon. Nkechinyere Ugwu, UNJP. She thanked the women for the recognition and reemphasized the significance of the August Meeting as a period when women come together to plan and strategize on ways to move their communities and families forward. She further urged them to continue using the August Meeting to impact lives and create structures that support and uplift the ideals of women.
The programme was attended by Mrs. Loveth Ejezie, my sister-in-law; Mrs. Chinwe Nwokeji, Special Assistant to the Commissioner; members of Umuada Ọmụma; Rev. Fr. Francis Okechukwu Omeire, the Parish Priest; and Rev. Fr. Henry Obi, the Assistant Parish Priest.
