Trafficking in persons is a serious crime and a grave violation of human rights. Today we observe World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, confronting one of humanity's most heinous crimes. This modern-day slavery thrives in shadows, exploiting vulnerable people through forced labour, sexual exploitation, and organ harvesting. Victims often remain invisible, trapped by fear, debt bondage, and manipulation. Today, with the 2025 theme "Human trafficking is Organized Crime – End the Exploitation," let us recommit to intensifying our fight against those who profit from human misery. Together, we must build a world where every person enjoys freedom and dignity.
