Imo State University, Owerri, held its Mr. and Miss IMSU Pageantry on Friday, July 18th, 2025, which produced the newly crowned Miss IMSU, Miss Amam Daniella Chisom, and Mr. IMSU, Okoronkwo Christian.
It was delightful to host them in my office yesterday. They were led by Hon. Humphrey Ikeaka Jr., Special Adviser on Special Duties to His Excellency the Governor; Hon. Eric Uwakwe Special Adviser on Youth Affairs; Hon. Chinyere Ujor, Director of Hope New and Electronic Media Centre; and Lanchia Chidubem, Local Organizing Committee Chairman of the Mr. and Miss IMSU Pageantry.
The team informed me that this year's edition was the fifth in the series, with a theme focused on the fight against drug abuse. Through this initiative, awareness was created among students and youths regarding the dangers of drug consumption, abuse, and illicit trafficking.
I commended them for their initiative in youth engagement and advised the pageant winners to utilize their platforms to positively influence their student colleagues and society for a better Imo State.
