As part of our continued commitment to enhancing child health and achieving comprehensive immunization coverage across Imo State, the State Task Force on Immunization held a strategic coordination meeting on June 26, 2025, in Owerri, focusing on the National Immunization Plus Days (NIPDs).
The meeting was chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Dr. Chioma Vivian Egu, who represented me, with the primary objective of assessing state-level preparedness for the upcoming NIPDs campaign and ensuring optimal coverage with zero missed children. The Honourable Commissioner, emphasized the State's commitment to achieving comprehensive immunization coverage and called for collective action from all Stakeholders. She commended the synergy between Government and development partners while reiterating the administration's dedication to child health and urged collaborative efforts to ensure campaign success.
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Okeji A. C.; Executive Secretary of Imo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency-ISPHCDA, Rev. Sr. Dr. Maria-Joannes Uzoma; Directors of ISPHCDA; State Immunization Officer, Dr. Okoroma Chibuzo; Cold Chain Officer, Mrs. Oguezuonu Lilian; and representatives from World Health Organization Nigeria, UNICEF Nigeria, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, and other development partners, including Corona Management Systems.
Through our collective commitment and adopted resolutions, we are confident the upcoming NIPDs campaign will successfully reach every eligible child across Imo State, ensuring no child is left behind in our pursuit of optimal health outcomes.
