In consolidating the success of the Renewed Hope Initiative in enhancing the livelihoods of Nigerians, on June 23, 2025, I participated in the Second Quarterly Meeting alongside fellow Renewed Hope Initiative State Coordinators. The meeting was convened by the First Lady of Nigeria, Her Excellency Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, at the State House, Presidential Villa, Abuja. The First Lady commended the Wives of State Governors for their complimentary roles in advancing the initiative's objectives. She emphasized intensifying advocacy efforts for campaigns addressing critical health challenges, including HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, Syphilis, Tuberculosis, and Cervical Cancer. The First Lady announced the forthcoming launch of the "Flow With Confidence Initiative," supporting adolescent girls in rural communities. Each state will receive 10,000 cartons of disposable sanitary towels for distribution. She also announced the unveiling of the RHI Environment Club/Society. The meeting was attended by the wife of the Vice President, the wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the wife of the Deputy Senate President. Addressing journalists afterward, the First Lady advocated for legislative backing for the Office of the First Lady at federal and state levels, similar to the United States framework. She emphasized that such support would significantly enhance their capacity for greater impact. Reflecting on the Initiative's achievements over two years, the First Lady noted it helps one person at a time. "We are helping those who are less privileged. Nigeria is a blessed country with a lot of resources and we just need to see how we can harness it," she stated. The First Lady expressed concern regarding recent violence nationwide, describing it as evil and unfortunate. She emphasized that as mothers and women, we must intensify prayers for the nation and contribute to Nigeria's development.
