Child labour, a pervasive social injustice, persists in our communities, depriving countless children of their fundamental rights and robbing them of their childhood. On this day, June 12, we unite to raise awareness about the grave social injustice inflicted upon our children. The theme for this year's commemoration, "Progress is clear, but there is more to do: let us speed up efforts," underscores the strides made in safeguarding children's rights and futures. Nevertheless, our work is far from over as some children still face exploitation and are denied their fundamental right to education. Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and develop their potential. No economic hardship, family circumstance, or social barrier should rob a child of their childhood and education. Let us accelerate our efforts. Together, we can ensure that every child enjoys their right to education and freedom from labour.
