At the United Nations House in Abuja on June 2nd, 2025, I represented Her Excellency, Sen. (Dr.) Oluremi Tinubu CON, the First Lady of Nigeria and National Chairman of the Renewed Hope Initiative, at the World Health Organization Nigeria and TY Danjuma Foundation signing ceremony partnership to improve Primary Health Care, Maternal and Child Health, and build resilient health systems in Nigeria.
On behalf of the First Lady, who through her Renewed Hope Initiatives is passionate about the health and well-being of Nigerians, I expressed gratitude for the support and partnership. Her Excellency has long exemplified our commitment to addressing Nigeria's health priorities as she has partnered with government and international organizations, which includes her role as the Stop TB National Patron, the Triple Elimination Campaign of HIV/AIDS, Syphilis and Hepatitis among women of reproductive age, and her advocacy to eliminate cervical cancer.
The partnership signing ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the diplomatic community, the former First Lady of Kwara State and Founder of The Wellbeing Foundation Africa, H.E. Mrs. Toyin Saraki, and other partners committed to advancing health in Nigeria.
I commend Dr. Walter Kazadi Mulombo and the WHO Nigeria Country Office in convening this collaboration, and congratulate Gloria Danjuma Atta, TYDF Chair, the Board of Trustees, and the CEO of the TY Danjuma Foundation, under Lt. Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma GCON (RTD), for their strategic investment in Nigeria's health future as we continue to work with renewed hope to make Nigeria healthier and stronger.
