The role of women and youth in agriculture is undeniable. Youth contribute innovative ideas and technological advancements, while women bring expertise, experience, and dedication, making them vital to agricultural development and food security.
On May 14, 2025, the Renewed Hope Initiative Agricultural Support Programme, spearheaded by the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and with the support of the Imo State Government, convened a seminar and training session in Owerri. This initiative aimed to enhance the participation of women and youth in sustainable food production and economic development.
Participants engaged in interactive sessions and knowledge sharing activities designed to strengthen their agricultural skills and entrepreneurial capacities. Expert facilitators from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security provided valuable insights into modern agricultural techniques and best practices. By focusing on women and youth, the Renewed Hope Initiative seeks to empower agricultural practitioners to drive sustainable economic growth, bolster food security, and foster entrepreneurship and job creation.
