In complementing the efforts of the Imo State Government under the leadership of my beloved husband, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator (Dr.) Hope Uzodimma, CON, GSSRS, to improve healthcare delivery and promote inclusive development, yesterday, 6th May, 2025, a 100-Bed Senator Oluremi Tinubu Mother and Child Centre at Awo-Omamma General Hospital was commissioned.

The facility commissioning, which was done by the Wife of the Vice President of Nigeria, Her Excellency Hajiya Nana Shettima on behalf of the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON, after whom it was named in honour of the causes she champions that empower women and protect the vulnerable, demonstrated an extraordinary dedication to reducing maternal and child mortality, ensuring that no woman loses her life in the process of giving birth, and that every child is given a fair chance to survive and thrive.

I commend the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, ably led by Her Excellency Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, OFR, for its instrumental role in facilitating this remarkable project. I also extend my gratitude to all stakeholders whose dedication and hard work have made this project a success. This facility will transform maternal and child healthcare in Imo State, bringing hope and quality medical services to the people.
